Examination Rules

Examination Time Table, Examination Centres & Examination Results will be displayed on the GNU website.

Students who are appearing examinations have to sent the filled Examination Application (Annexure-III) along with the DD of the Examination Fee to the Administrative Office.

Candidate shall be declared to have passed in the examination if he/she secures at least 40% marks in internal assignment and external examination separately and 50% marks in aggregate including practical and project.

Candidates are required to pass in Theory as well as in Practical subjects separately. A candidate who secures above 50% marks and below 60% marks will be awarded Grade C, above 60% and below 75% Grade B and 75% marks Grade A in the final year.

The candidate who have failed are also eligible to appear in the next year examination.Due papers will also be treated as backlog paper(s). To clear the due paper(s) candidate will be allowed to appear in the backlog paper along with the next Year examination. If the candidate does not avail these opportunities or fails in these attempts, his/her Final Year result will be declared but mark sheet will not be issued.

The failed students can simultaneously appear in the examination of Higher Class / Year as a fresh student and a backlog student the Lower Class / Year.

No Grace marks shall be awarded individually in internal assignment, practical and project. The grace marks will be awarded only on aggregate marks of the theory paper up to 1% maximum of two papers. No grace marks will be awarded in due papers.

A candidate shall will not be given any chance to improve their Division/Marks in any Paper(s) in any Year.

In case of any error or omission being detected in preparation of Mark Sheet and brought to notice later, the GNU will be fully empowered to correct the same.

GNU has the right to alter, add or delete any Rule/Note without any prior information.

The Final Year marks sheet will show the marks of all the Years of that course as well as clearance of all the Year(s) by the candidate or not.

Lateral Entry(L.E): GNU allows exemption with regard to the duration and number of papers of the course.

Candidates registered are of two categories; i.e. Regular and OES (Open Education System) The candidates who are registered and studying regularly comes under Regular Category and candidates who are registered under Open Education System comes under OES category.

The candidates who are appearing in the examination for the first time (First Attempt) are considered as Fresh and candidates who are appearing in the examination for due papers are considered as Backlog.
